Hello everyone,
November was definitely an amazing month for us and I am happy to say that December is starting off pretty strong too! I can’t thank everyone enough for the donates on our Go Fund Me page and Teddy Bear Drive, it is truly making a difference.
November 13th was National Kindness Day, and Wonderful College Prep Academy Middle Schoolers decided to host their first Teddy Bear Toss! It was great to see students take an interest in our program and give back to their community.
I am happy to announce that all of the bears were donated out already! The first set went to Delano Ambulance Services. After talking to one of their representatives, they shared that they are going to use some of the stuffed animals to comfort children if they are being transported to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.
The rest of the stuffed animals were donated to the Kern County Fire Department Station 34 here in Delano. This was an amazing opportunity that my family is very excited to be a part of. They truly embraced what we are trying to do in the community and expressed the same compassion for this program as we do. During our first delivery they we kind enough to take my son and myself on a tour of the department and even showed us the fire trucks. It was such a privilege and a memory I know my son will always cherish.
Our next big project is getting the official paperwork approved by the state and ready to go. Also, as I mentioned before we are officially out of stuffed animals as of today and are ready to take more donations. If you, your work place, clubs, or families would like to get involved you can do any of the following.
